Peep peep peep! Chicks and ducklings add their voices to our classrooms and hatch the next generation of poultry for our school barn.

Fame Day is a highlight each spring for one day of mini-classes with crafts, sports, and activities! A favorite for all!

MCS was on the move on Saturday, June 1st! On the heels of the race/walk in the morning, it was MCS night at the Mallards Game! To top it off 25 current and former students sang the National Anthem to a sold out stadium on the second home game of the season. Under the direction of music teacher, Miss Knitt, they made us proud! Linked below is a video of them singing from the field. Thanks to the Mallards for a fun school family night out! #madisonmallards #togetherwesoar #MCS

The Merrimac Swing Into Summer 5K Run & 1 Mile Walk was a soaring success! Our Girls Running Club members cheered each other on to the end. Lots of families enjoyed the walk as well. MCS doesn't let a little rain slow us down! #togetherwesoar

A big thank you to Merrimac Ferry Landing Concessions for giving all the students a treat today! Ice cream and a ferry ride? Yes, please!

MCS 4K students went on a field trip to Circus World. For most of the children it was their first bus ride and there were many giggles on the drive. The Big Top show was fantastic and the final act they enjoyed was watching the Human Cannonball shoot through the air. Thank you to the MCS Home and School Association for helping pay for our school bus transportation!

We went back in time to 1885 at Old World Wisconsin! Grades 2 and 3 had an epic day with the living history of homesteads, apprenticeships, and pioneer power!

Mr. Adam, owner of Ferry Landing Concessions, treated the MCS 4K students to ice cream Thursday. Then they rode the ferry across Lake Wisconsin and played on the other side. It was an amazing day!

Congratulations to our fifth grade writer who was selected to attend the Young Authors Conference at UW-Platteville on May 20!

Grade 5 transplanted the tomatoes from the hydroponic tower garden to the community garden! Let's get growing!

We are cultivating the next generation of gardeners on #WISchoolGardenDay at MCS!

Science is delicious! 4K students used dill they grew in a hydroponic garden to make pickles. The hydroponic garden was funded through a grant from the Sauk Prairie Chamber of Commerce. The students were very excited to help make this yummy snack by practicing how to safely use a knife. Thank you, Sauk Prairie Chamber of Commerce!

It was a fin-tastic day as grades 1 & 2 released the rainbow trout! Lots of learning has happened as we've cared for the fry since January. This project is o-fish-illy a success! A big thank you to our reel-y great partners at the @widnr for their continued assistance. ❤️🐟

Making cheese?! No whey! It was a gouda day to make fresh mozzarella using math, science, and literacy. Cheese tasting with #AgInTheClassroom and the Sauk County Farm Bureau made the day even cheddar! Learning is delicious!

The biggest THANK YOU to our families, staff, and community! The rummage sale was a huge success (proceeds to our inclusive playground equipment) AND the garden is prepared for student spring planting!
❤️MCS❤️

Grades 4 and 5 visited the Bank of Prairie du Sac and the Tripp Museum. Financial literacy and local history! Great trip!

Projects are our bread and butter! Quite literally in Kindergarten as they baked bread and made their own butter! Learning is delicious!
