Medical team to third grade... finishing their unit on body systems, third graders scrubbed up and used their learning to make models of organs, perform surgery, and have fun!

A big thank you to Keller's Kornucopia for a fabulous field trip! Kindergarten and second grade enjoyed picking pumpkins from the field, seeing the honeybee hives, and navigating the hay bale maze!

The skeleton crew is ready for Halloween! Fifth graders learned about the skeleton system with a milk jug project!

🎃🍁 Our 5K students at MCS had a “gourd” time celebrating the season with pumpkin pie–scented playdough! The classroom smelled amazing, and the fun was as sweet as pie! 🥧✨ #MCS #FallFun #HandsOnLearning #SPSD

Our K-5 students saw all 15 species of cranes today at the International Crane Foundation. The fantastic tour was a hit as students learned about the amazing conservation efforts locally and around the world!

❤️🥚 Our egg-cellent birds have been laying lots of eggs! On Friday, eggs are for sale for $3 (pick up at the office or pick-up line after school). All money supports the barnyard project.
Comment or message to reserve your eggs.

Monty the Mammoth greeted our hikers on their final segment of the #MammothHikeChallenge on the #IceAgeTrail today! Students connected their classroom learning through three habitats as they completed the last seven miles and practiced positive perseverance!

A big thank you to #AgInTheClassroom and the Sauk County Farm Bureau for bringing Wisconsin agriculture to second grade.

☀️😎 Merrimac Community School showed up in style at the SPHS Homecoming Parade! A record-setting hot day didn’t stop us from looking cool in our newly donated shades. 🖤 Go Eagles!

Farm week was so much fun in 4K, it wore out the students! Grandpa Palmer brought a tractor and all the students climbed up to check it out. They also made very colorful cow puppets and enjoyed singing Old McDonald had a Farm.

A big thank you to the Ruth Culver and George Culver Community Libraries for bringing Dragons Love Tacos (but not spicy salsa!) to our school! We were so inspired we made tacos at cooking time!

#MammothHikeChallenge accepted! Grades 1 and 2 are hiking every week on the #IceAgeTrail as a part of the October outdoor challenge.

In response to the high temps forecasted - and in order for the Marching Band to stay fresh for the game - there will not be a performance for the students preceding the Homecoming Parade as originally planned.

While reading a story during literacy about a Cuban-American family, the fifth graders made and enjoyed Cuban Carne Puerco over rice, just like the characters in the story. Our adventurous fifth grade gourmets learned new cooking skills and expanded their palates. Yum!
